CWONJ Raises Money for ChildrenÕs Specialized Hospital at Annual Golf Outing
The Car Wash Operators of New Jersey (CWONJ) raised $4,675 for the ChildrenÕs Specialized Hospital at its 7th Annual Golf Outing, June 5, at the Olde York Country Club in Columbus. It is the third year the group has raised funds for the largest comprehensive, pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the United States. ÒIt is a great feeling to be able to make a difference and help children,Ó said CWONJ President Doug Karvelas. ÒThis year the weather was on our side and we had a lot of golfers come out to support the cause and have a fun day with their fellow operators.Ó Adam J. Kerins, corporate & foundation relations director for the hospital accepted the generous donation.

85 golfers played 18 holes at the ÒTop 10 RatedÓ course. Carl Gelormine took home accolades for winning the putting contest, and the team of Scott Freund, Chris and Barry Hart and Pete Defazio took second place for the day. For the first time, Team Whichard (Todd) took home trophies for first place. His teammates Ken Hoffman, Emir Certioglu and Larry Biasatto reined superior and won the outing with an impressive 55.

Other winners included Larry Biasotto for the Circle of Gold Hole, Mark Boffa for Closest to the Pin on Hole #5, Pete Defazio on Hole #11 and Chris Hart on Hole #15. Longest Drive/Men went to Mark Shahdanian on Hole #14 and Longest Drive/Women went to Rosalie Zodikoff on Hole #14. ÒEveryone certainly had a great time, and raved about this fabulous course,Ó said outing Chairperson Dick Zodikoff. ÒOlde York Country Club is certainly one of the top courses in the state.Ó
